Superior Safety Services Course Outline

logo

Both the four hour and six hour course have common elements. Common Core:

  • Course overview
  • Attention grabbers that impact on our ability to work safe
  • OH&S Regs
  • Determination of competence
  • Discussion on what is reasonably practical
  • Forces that impact us when we fall
  • Fall protection (Restraint and Arrest) explanations, examples (ie) systems used and applications
  • Review of types of fall arrest and restraint systems (In this part we focus on the application the client uses)
  • Harness, Anchor Points and Lanyards; Inspections/applications (hands on experience putting on and inspecting harnesses etc.)
  • Hazard assessments; Planning for what can go right and allowing for what can go wrong
  • Course Exam and Evaluation

The six hour course has two additional hours of field work on hazard assessment, work planning and applications and uses of fall protection systems that the client uses or may want to use in the workplace. This section gives the client a much higher level of confidence in the systems they are using or might use and gives the employees a greater sense of how to apply their skills and knowledge more safely on the job.
